20 Oct 2011  paparich
I believe this was the match where straight from the kick off after Wimbledon went 1 nil up, Noel Blake passed back to Alan Knight who was looking at his injured leg. We all yelled from the crowd behind his goal that the ball was coming, but to no avail, and the ball trickled into the net to put Wimbledon 2 nil up.

This was exactly that game paparich. I was also behind the goal, and right at the front. I remember thinking that the ball must be dead and the ref was going to just restart the game, and that confusion was apparent among plenty of others who WEREN'T yelling with the others. Then I remember someone shouting 'What the f**k's going on?' Thing is, it was very windy that day, and we were against the wind in the first half, so getting to the break level, which we nearly did, would have been a big deal. As it is, most of us were fairly happy to go in just the one down, but that second one was a killer. Also, Biley had a perfectly good goal turned down and a stonewall penalty also turned down, both in the second half. It was early in the season, but Wimbledon ended up going up, and our form dipped after this, so it was probably pivotal - and I always thought we were a tired old team when we did finally go up in 87, hence we came straight back down. We'd take those days back though now!
